It thrives in hot, humid tropical climates with ideal temperatures between 24°C and 32°C and is sensitive to cold below 15°C. In regions like Kerala, the high rainfall, warm temperatures, and humid conditions are well suited for its growth. The tree prefers deep, fertile, well-drained soils and requires consistent moisture and good wind protection for healthy flowering and fruiting.
